Questions
How long will the survey take?
We try to complete a survey within 1 to 2 hours. Obviously this is dependant on the complexity of the structural elements of your property.
Will I need to be at home when the surveyor arrives?
The surveyor will need you to be at home, as he will have a few simple questions to ask you. He will also need access to all areas of your home, including the loft area ( if practically possible).
What will the surveyor actually do?
The surveyor will take measurements of the inside or outside of the house, and will take a few photographs. He will also look into your loft (if you have one), and will need to inspect the existing heating, lighting, and insulation characteristics.
Will the surveyor tell me that I will have to get work done?
The surveyor isn`t visiting you to insist that your home is brought up to a certain standard of energy efficiency. His role is to advise you where best you can improve your home and reduce your energy usage without affecting your comfort. The choices he will suggest are entirely up to you. His suggestions are EXACTLY that.
